The Public Affairs Council produces a monthly newsletter; scroll down to Page 2 of the February issue (PDF) for a great article on sloppy writing. The author of the article and editor of the newsletter, Alan Pell Crawford, takes one pundit to task for a series of catch phrases that in total really amount to a lot of noise without much meaning. It's a good article for anyone who writes.

I can't help but be on-side with this. The essay cited by this article, Politics and the English Language by George Orwell, was one of the best things I ever read in an English class.
Of course, I had to read it twice to understand it. I don't know whether I should blame Orwell's dense prose or my scattered younger brain for that!
Great article. It's the bee's knees. It's still impacting on me.
